professional ethics statement

My ethical code has developed through different stages of life. Early on, my parents and mentors helped shape my ethics. As I have pursued higher education, my ethical code has transformed through academic research and personal experience. While my core ethics are rooted in my upbringing, I have developed ethical beliefs that guide my personal and professional conduct.

One of my primary ethical values is honesty. Honesty shapes my decision-making and is reflected in various aspects of my life. Professionally, honesty is the commitment to completing original work and maintaining intellectual integrity. Honesty plays an integral role in my daily interactions. It means setting realistic expectations and preserving transparency in my relationships. Professionally, I strive to uphold the same standard of honesty and full disclosure with clients, colleagues, and leadership. While honesty is a pillar of my ethical code, understanding the weight of confidentiality holds equal importance.

Another value that shapes my ethical code is respect. Respect includes consideration for others and myself, and it means maintaining my own boundaries and expectations while honoring those of others. In a professional setting, respect must be present in my interactions with employers, colleagues, and clients, even in moments of disagreement.

Alongside honesty and respect is my ethical obligation to kindness. Kindness means trying to ensure that those around me feel comfortable and appreciated. Maintaining positivity is the easiest way to show kindness in the face of conflict or tension. Showing grace, gratitude, and compassion to clients, coworkers, and employers is essential in upholding this ethical value.

Honesty, respect, and kindness are the most important ethical values that I hold. My professional ethics mirror my personal ethics, which allows me to stay consistent and approach decision-making with confidence and clarity.
